Dear Customer,
Mercedes Benz has notified owners of newer models that the Mercedes extended service intervals are not working out as planned. In addition to oil breakdown problems, Mercedes notes that other items also need more frequent attention. Leith Mercedes now recommends coming in every 5,000 miles for tire inspection and rotation.
The Foreign Service has always recommended a 5,000 mile service interval. We believe that exceeding this pushes the limits of even modern oils. A proper inspection of your vehicle every 5,000 miles provides you with maximum reliability at minimum cost.
Additional benefits include: Correcting fluid levels before problems arise. Balancing and rotating tires for maximum life and ride quality. Maintaining proper tire inflation levels for optimal fuel economy. Finding slow tire leaks before having a flat and ruining the tire. Testing air conditioning freon levels before you bake on a long trip. Testing and replacing batteries when needed before they fail. Locating problems that may cost much more to repair later or lead to avoidable breakdowns. Maximizing the life of the major investment you have made with your Benz.
We have been providing Mobil 1 engine oil for many years and recommend its use in Mercedes of all ages. Combined with our 5,000 mile service interval, this will minimize oil breakdown and subsequent engine contamination. In addition to increased wear protection, the use of Mobil 1 also improves fuel economy by reducing friction in your engine. We believe using Mobil 1 has been a very worthwhile investment.
